Purpose : To determine the purity of a sample of sodium sulphite.

Purpose : To determine the effect of temperature on the reaction rate.
5. Equilibrium and Solubility
Purpose : To determine the solubility product, Ksp, of MX2 and enthalpy change of solution, ΔHsol
SECOND TERM
6. Thermochemistry
Purpose : To determine the heat of reaction.
7. Electrochemistry - Faraday's Laws
Purpose : To determine the percentage purity of copper metal by electrolysis.
8. Qualitative Analysis
Purpose : To determine the cations and anions of organic substances.
9. Qualitative Analysis
Purpose : To determine the cations and anions in inorganic salts.
10. Technique - Synthesis
Purpose : To determine the percentage of aluminium in a sample X by means of the preparation of a complex compound of aluminium with 8-hydroxyquinoline.
THIRD TERM
11. Qualitative Analysis
Purpose : To study the reactions of alcohols and carbonyl compounds.
12. Qualitative Analysis
Purpose : To study the reactions of organic nitrogen compounds (amides, amines and their salts, amino acids and proteins).
13. Technique - Synthesis
Purpose : To prepare a sample of 2-(4-hydroxyphenylazo) benzoic acid.
Project
Volumetric Analysis/ Physical Quantity/ Technique
Purpose : To enable students to acquire knowledge and skills in chemistry using ICT as well as to develope soft-skills.
